COVID-19 Coronavirus, social distancing, and your care at Go Light Bariatrics
“COVID-19 tests are no longer required for our patients”
On May 5, 2023, the World Health Organization declared the end of the Covid-19 global health emergency. This has brought a major relief to our patients as well as to our medical and facilitating team at Go Light Bariatrics. We no longer have to follow the tedious protocol with the pre-op covid testing, facial masks, and other restrictions.
We are happy to announce that COVID-19 tests are no longer required for our patients.
The only exception when we may need to run a rapid antigen test for COVID-19 is if you arrive in Tijuana with cold-like symptoms (runny nose, sneezing).
Patients with very mild symptoms who test negative for COVID-19 will be considered for surgery.
Patients with more severe symptoms, such as cough, sore throat, fever will have to postpone the surgery and return home until full recovery regardless of the covid test results.
Our recommendation is: stay home and postpone the surgery if you develop any type of cold-like symptoms. Do not take the risk of traveling and possibly wasting a trip in case the surgery needs to be postponed.
Always inform your patient coordinator immediately should you develop any type of cold-like symptoms, even if you suspect a seasonal allergy.
We appreciate your cooperation!
